For the 2019 D&AD competition they gave you the option of 19 different company briefs to choose from, each with different intentions (most were for a new campaign). I chose to submit an idea for John Lewis and Partners new campaign to promote the idea of 'thoughtful giving' throughout the year, with a focus on promoting their gift experiences.
The outcome had to be illustration or animation led, so I decided to curate a narrative about a friend who gave 'thoughtful' gifts throughout the year, which lead up to one last big gift at the end. I presented this story by creating a flip book and stop motion animation at 12fps. I also had to consider and design other areas of John Lewis the new campaign would affect, such as window displays (spatial design), till roles and in-store merchandise for example tote bags.
