

For the 2019 D&AD competition I chose to submit an idea for John Lewis and Partners' new campaign, to promote the idea of 'thoughtful giving' throughout the year: with a focus on promoting their gift experiences. The outcome had to be illustration or animation led, so I decided to curate a narrative about a friend who gave 'thoughtful' gifts throughout the year, which unknowingly led up to one last big gift at the end. I presented this story by creating a flip book and stop motion animation at 12fps. Having to consider and design for other areas the new campaign would affect, such as window displays (spatial design), till roles and in-store merchandise such as tote bags, I also drew illustrations and designed a set for the front store display.
